Getting my game on…

Good morning! It’s a bit nippy but it’s not raining and I’m about to head out to meet a friend who is also at a turning point in her life.

I’m not one for sitting back and letting the world go by. I like change and the opportunity to try new things. Sometimes difficult times have bought me to a place where I need to let one thing go and reach out for something new. Other times I’ve been in a good place, had a brainwave and taken a risk. All of the time I’ve had the support of my family and friends when I’ve wanted to change direction in life. I am lucky in this way and very grateful.

Big numbers in life are significant. 40 was a massive kick up the bum for me and in the last 10 years I’ve changed career, studied for an MA and become a mum. I’m now 51 and after several months of reflection in lockdown, I decided it was time to do what I always say I want to do when someone asks me…. ‘be my own boss and tell everyone about the joy of games!’

So here we go. I’m being my own boss, doing everything myself (including building this website - thank you Squarespace for the great template!) and working with games manufacturers and distributors. So far so good….

The plan going forward is to sell my games locally, develop my online store or even….drum roll please….open a bricks and mortar premises. That’s the dream. Let’s get on with making it happen!

If you want to join me on this journey I’m all about sharing (ask any of my friends! I talk a lot!!) and I’m really, really all about inclusivity, not leaving anyone out and doing things together. I would appreciate your company on this ride. I have heard that being a new business owner can be a lonely place and I think if we are all there for each other it makes it’s easier and not so scary!
